Suspended Project Day 1

This is the background for an oil paint practice project that I’m doing. It’s still very much wet and it’s likely to stay that way for a while, what with being oil paint and all. I’ll have to wait a day or two before it’s dry enough for the next layer.
This was my first ever time of using a palette knife. It was exciting!

I need to gets me some oil paints. I think they’d be better for nutty perfectionists like me. Acrylic dries too quickly for me to mess with it for 17 hours to get something perfect.
I’m not sure the stuff I was using here is even really oil paint, because it’s water-soluble. It bends physics, but I don’t have to keep a bunch of linseed oil and turpentine around, so, cool, I guess.
