Thing-A-Day 2013 Day 5: Crocheted Leaves

Leafy

I have some leftover green yarn, so I decided to crochet some leaves.

I didn’t have a pattern. I just winged it, using single crochet for the thinnest bits and progressing up to quadruple crochet for the widest bits of a leaf.

I used worsted weight yarn. It only looks huge because this is a close-up.

When I have some leftover yarn in a flowery colour, I will add a flower to the centre.

Thing-A-Day 2013 Day 3: Paper Snowflake

Papery

You know, it dawned on me recently that I haven’t made a paper snowflake in years, so I thought, Hell, why not do one for one of my things.

The snowflake kept folding itself back up when I was trying to take a picture of it. I didn’t drag out my iron to iron out the folds, partially out of laziness and partially out of fear of burning the house down.

Thing-A-Day 2013 Day 1: Flower Columns

Hey, it’s another Thing-A-Day! Let’s see if I can go the whole month, like I did last year.

Too Colourful

Today’s thing is a painting that I don’t particularly like.

I was trying to play around with negative space, but with all the different colours I used, it just ended up looking busy. I’m thinking of doing this painting over and just using black and white.

I also had some problems with the paint bleeding under the tape. I need to make sure to press the tape down with the back of my fingernail really hard the next time I attempt a thing like this.

Well, I’m Back

I haven’t really written anything here in a long while. I’m sorry to the two people that follow this blog, but I’m moreso sorry to myself. I quite enjoy writing. It helps me come up with new ideas and helps me unwind.

Anyhoo…

Like the new site design? I think that maybe the fonts are too big. It looks like it is designed for people that can’t see so well. Why don’t I fix it you ask? Because, something something aging baby boomers something something demographics.

I’ve done a whole thing with the different categories being on different subdomains. I’m not so sure that was a good idea. It does prevent this problem I was having with category hierarchy conflicts though.

So, have a look around my confusing blog and try to find the hidden treasures contained therein.

I’m tired of writing now. Good Bye.
